Taylor Swift Brought Her Parents to the Club, and the Video Is Hilariously Awkward

You know that feeling of immediate regret when you accidentally bring your mild-mannered parents to the club? No? Well, Taylor Swift does. In her defense, the invite did say “friends and family.” After her boyfriend Travis Kelce—maybe you’ve heard of him—and his football team won the Super Bowl on February 11, they went clubbing to celebrate. Swift, apparently not realizing the nature of the venue, brought her mom and dad along, which she posted in a hilariously relatable TikTok.

“It’s a friends and family party they said,” she wrote in text over the video, which showed a packed nightclub with Kelce pulling faces at the camera before panning over to Scott and Andrea Swift sitting quietly in a corner while Ludacris’s “Fantasy” blasts in the background. “Bring your parents they said,” the text continues, while the camera pans to Taylor Swift herself, who looks deeply awkward that this is where she’s brought her mom and dad.

In the caption, the Grammy winner joked, “Accidentally going clubbing with your parents is something everyone should try at least once in their life.”

Honestly, of all the places Mr. and Mrs. Swift have unexpectedly found themselves thanks to their über-famous daughter, a crowded club in Kansas can’t even make the top 10, right? In 2008, for instance, Swift recounted to Entertainment Weekly how her mom would drive her around Nashville when she was barely double-digit-aged, knocking on doors and trying to get a record deal. “My mom waited in the car with my little brother while I knocked on doors up and down Music Row,” she said. “I would say, ‘Hi, I’m Taylor. I’m 11; I want a record deal. Call me.’”
