Mace appoints ex-ISG executive

Mace has appointed former ISG and Turner & Townsend executive Gary Sweeney to lead its European operations across the healthcare, life sciences and technology sectors.

Sweeney joins the consultancy after a short spell as interim director for Turner & Townsend’s advanced manufacturing, industrial and logistics division, covering the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He was previously part of the leadership team within ISG’s Hyperscale business unit, delivering major programmes across the datacentre, pharmaceutical, battery technology and aerospace industries.

The new role marks a consolidation of leadership across Mace’s healthcare, life sciences and tech operations, aiming to boost collaboration and delivery through shared expertise and resource planning.

Sweeney will focus on strengthening Mace’s life sciences work in the UK, Germany and Switzerland and support its North American teams working with major pharmaceutical firms. He also aims to grow the company’s datacentre and semiconductor manufacturing business.

Andy Beard, interim managing director for Europe at Mace Consult, said: “Gary’s appointment and the alignment of our teams working across the healthcare, life sciences and technology sectors presents us with an exciting opportunity to drive the next level of growth across the region.”

Sweeney said his decision to join Mace was shaped by its early client engagement approach: “By connecting these dots, we’re helping clients to think differently and unlock the outcomes that enable long-term success.”
