The livestreams have wrapped. The carpet is closing. And all the celebs we were gonna see have been seen. So, is the 2025 Met Gala over? Depends on your perspective, really.

For those of us who stayed up to watch all the stars walk the blue carpet at the 2025 Met Gala but were not actually invited to the event, the festivities ended at around 9:30 p.m. ET, which is when E! finished their red carpet coverage. Vogue, which was also livestreaming the carpet, finished their broadcast around 45 minutes earlier.

However, the actual Met Gala, as in, the event all of those celebs got so dressed up to attend, didn’t begin until after the red carpet part was finished. So, in a sense, the Met Gala is just beginning. That’s not to say there won’t be more fashion to take in later. After the gala ends, celebrities usually change into a second (or third, depending on the star) look for the various after-parties. There is no live coverage of those shindigs, but there will be plenty of photos to look through on the following day.
