Tim Walz isn’t the only person bringing the fun dad energy to the Kamala Harris presidential campaign. President Barack Obama just saw Walz’s car talk and raised him a rapping Eminem’s âLose Yourselfâ at a campaign rally in Detroit on October 22.
Following an introduction from the rapper himself, Obama took the stage, and told the crowd he was feeling a little nervous to follow Eminem. âI notice, my palms are sweaty,â he said, quoting the iconic first line of the song. And the audience, of course, immediately caught on. This was in Detroit, after all. The former president continued to recite the verse, taking a conversational tone, âKnees weak, arms are heavy. Vomit on my sweater already. Mom’s spaghetti.â

Picking up speed, Obama continued to rap, âI’m nervous but on the surface I look calm and ready, to drop bombs, but I keep on forgettingâ¦â He then joked, âI thought Eminem was gonna be performing, I was getting ready to jump out.â
It’s not the first time Barack Obama has shown off his musical chops. He’s sung âLet’s Stay Togetherâ at a fundraiser in New York City, âSweet Home Chicagoâ at the White House, and, most famously of course, he sang âAmazing Graceâ at a funeral service for the victims of the Charleston, South Carolina church shooting.
Honestly, Barack Obama rapping an Eminem song in Detroit could have been predicted by all of us, when you think about it.
