North West, daughter of Ye and Kim Kardashian, really leaned into her last name for her latest creative venture, looking westward toward the setting sun for inspiration. As her mom revealed on Instagram Stories, the 10-year-old just painted a purple, pink, and orange scene set at the beach that’s—look, I’m not an art critic, and also she is 10, so let’s be easy here—really pretty! I would totally put this as my desktop background. Or my phone background. Or my iPad background. You get it.
“North’s new painting” Kardashian wrote on her Story, proudly adding colorful heart emojis.
Last time she shared one of her eldest daughter’s works, it sparked a conversation about whether North had actually done the art herself, prompting Kardashian to clap back online, writing, “DON’T PLAY WITH ME WHEN IT COMES TO MY CHILDREN!!! My daughter and her best friend have been taking a serious oil painting class where their talents and creativity are being encouraged and nurtured. North worked incredibly hard on her painting, which took several weeks to complete. As a proud mom, I wanted to share her work with everyone.” North should prob sign her name or initials on the canvas but, like, I do believe that she painted this! Because that would be the weirdest scam of all time!
The whole family, it seems, is branching out artistically. Kim hasn’t picked up a non-makeup brush, but she did lean into her thespian side for a role in the upcoming season of American Horror Story: Delicate. And this is after she proved her chops as a photographer with the pioneering collection Selfish which was, if nothing else, at least much more interesting and au courant than Brooklyn Beckham’s book of blurry, poorly lit pictures of elephants that, for some reason, my friend Dana has on her coffee table. Good job, North West! Stay paintin’!
