'Emily In Paris' Season 4 Has An Official Release Date — This Summer!

It’s been over a year since Netflix’s beloved rom-com series Emily in Paris dropped Season 3, and fans are ~très impatients~ (read: very impatient) to see what new and exciting antics lie in store for our favorite Chicago girl — and all of the other marvelous characters — in the City of Lights. Well, at long last, we have news. Netflix just announced Emily in Paris Season 4’s release date, along with a surprise twist.

Netflix renewed Emily in Paris for a fourth season back in January 2022, shortly after Season 2 premiered. Thanks to the series’ popularity, it received a joint renewal, getting picked up for both a third and fourth season all at once. This shows that the streaming higher-ups have a lot of confidence in it, which bodes well for its future.

While more content is guaranteed, it’s impossible to say where Emily’s journey will go from here. After all, details of the upcoming fourth season are scarce. But given this show’s flair for the dramatic and penchant to lean into its ongoing love triangle (or is it a rectangle at this point?), it’s sure to be well worth the wait.

When will Emily in Paris Season 4 premiere?

On May 3, Netflix shared a teaser with three exciting revelations. First, judging by what the cast has to say, the upcoming episodes may just be the messiest, most dramatic, and chicest yet. Second, the show will return this summer. Third, Season 4 will be released in two parts, with part one premiering on Aug. 15 and part two dropping on Sept. 12.

So, although the waiting process always stinks like merde, take comfort in knowing that Emily will return to your screen before you know it.

Has Season 4 already finished filming?

Not yet! While we know that production officially started in January 2024, it’s unclear how much longer filming will take. However, one thing is certain: It won’t go beyond May. Due to the Summer Olympics in Paris, filming for all shoots and productions will be prohibited from June to September. Thus, the earlier-than-expected start to shooting (and release date).

Which cast members will be back for Season 4?

As expected, the official cast list for the season reveals that all of the Parisians, expats, and other fashionable favorites we’ve come to know and love will return with Emily in Paris. That means saying “bonjour” to Emily (Lily Collins), Gabriel (Lucas Bravo), Mindy (Ashley Park), Camille (Camille Razat), Sylvie (Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu), Julien (Samuel Arnold), Luc (Bruno Gouery), Antoine (William Abadie), and Alfie (Lucien Laviscount).

As for who you won’t see in Season 4, Madeline (Kate Walsh) doesn’t appear on the cast list. Considering Emily decided not to return with her boss to Chicago last season, the marketing director may not make any cameos this season.

What will Season 4 be about?

Warning: Spoilers ahead!

To quickly recap, Season 3 saw Emily’s relationship with sarcastic charmer Alfie find its footing… or so it seemed. Then, Camille breaks off her wedding to Gabriel at the altar after accusing him of being in love with Emily. With that, Alfie declares he’s “nobody’s second choice” and leaves Emily. And, oh yeah, Camille is pregnant and has a secret lover (Sofia the artist).

Keeping that in mind, here’s the Season 4 synopsis that Netflix shared: “After the dramatic events of Camille and Gabriel’s misbegotten wedding, Emily is reeling: She has strong feelings for two men, but now Gabriel’s expecting a baby with his ex, and Alfie’s worst fears about her and Gabriel have been confirmed. At work, Sylvie is forced to confront a thorny dilemma from her past for the sake of her marriage, and the Agence Grateau team navigates personnel shakeups. Mindy and the band prepare for Eurovision, but when funds run dry, they’re forced to get thrifty. Emily and Gabriel’s chemistry is undeniable as they work together towards a Michelin star, but two big secrets threaten to undo everything they’ve dreamed of.”

So, yeah, you better believe Season 4 is going to be *juicy.* In the meantime, Emily in Paris Seasons 1, 2, and 3 are now available for streaming on Netflix.
