Week 13 of the college football season brings a unique taste of team uniforms.
In July, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish unveiled their Shamrock Series uniforms with a “Wolf of Wall Street” spoof video. With the Irish taking on the Army Black Knights at Yankee Stadium, the time has arrived for the look to make its debut.
The Shamrock Series threads feature a blue-gray sky base inspired by the opening line of the “The Four Horsemen” article from 1924, where Grantland Rice states: “Outlined against a blue-gray October sky, the Four Horsemen rode again.”
Gold accents are featured on the uniforms’ Notre Dame logo, along with the numbers and Under Armour emblem to provide depth to each of the corners. They are also utilizing a new font for the numbers, inspired by the gothic type of newspaper mastheads, with a subtle bevel.
It’s in the details ✨

Here are the best college football uniforms from Week 13.
The Texas Tech Red Raiders wore a special uniform designed by Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes in Week 11 against the Colorado Buffaloes that featured the Red Raiders alum’s “Gladiator” logo. In Week 13, Texas Tech will re-up the threads with a few changes.
A white base will replace the original gray base with “Texas Tech” across the chest.

The LSU Tigers will debut a sweet gold jersey design against the Vanderbilt Commodores. Though LSU typically sticks to the tradition of its purple and white jerseys, this will mark the fifth instance where the Tigers will wear a gold jersey. LSU last wore a gold jersey in their 23-20 victory over the Mississippi State Bulldogs in 2016. They are 3-1 when they don the gold jersey.

The Houston Cougars are honoring the city’s history with their “Houston Blue” uniforms against their in-state foe, the Baylor Bears, for senior day. The uniforms mirror the Houston Oilers uniforms from their “Luv Ya Blue” era, which was in the late 1970s.
Houston wore the jerseys last season on Sep. 2 against UTSA before the NFL sent the university a cease-and-desist letter to discontinue the Oilers-inspired uniforms.
“As a university deeply connected to the fabric of Houston, incorporating ‘Houston Blue’ into our uniforms is a powerful way to celebrate the city’s rich history,” University of Houston vice president for intercollegiate athletics Eddie Nuñez said in a news release. From iconic blue street markers to the Houston Police Department’s signature blue police cars and helicopters, this color holds a special place in the hearts of Houstonians.

The Utah Utes are wearing their all-black throwback uniforms against the No. 22 Iowa State Cyclones with a unique artistic addition. Utah has a tradition of hand-painting its helmets, which began in 2016, with this year’s “Malama Lahaina” edition celebrating the Polynesian culture. The custom helmets also pay homage to the Lahaina wildfires that transpired in 2023.
